The Red Top Ranch is located in Fowler Colorado, is in southeastern Colorado ( southeast of Pueblo Colorado). The land and climate are similar to New Mexico, not really desert, but dry arid and big open spaces!!!

Camp Specifics

We offer several options at these camps.
One is a 7 day camp of intensive training with at least 5 hrs per day.
We also offer 2 weekend camps of 2-3days.

Enrollment is limited to 10 students per camp. Each student is trained individually, according to their level of expertise. We have ALL levels of training at each camp, from beginner to professional, everyone gets individual attention.

During the 7 day camp, there are various activities offered during the evening and during rest breaks such as videos of numerous professional trickriders, photo books, and hand-outs describing various techniques or resources to help in trickriding.

In case of snow or rain, we have a small covered area where we can do dry work on a stationary metal horse built for this purpose. "Dry work" is similar to working in ballet or floor mat exercise.

Red Top Ranch students gain valuable experience on correct usage and care of the equipment, horses, and the way to prepare them for the trickriding venue. The total training package would probably compare to any coaching activity - preparing not only for the next show, but also training in exercises, stretches, warm-ups, and costuming. This kind of training makes all the difference between a mediocre rider, and a polished professional trickrider. The last day of the 7 day camp we have a short morning practice and then have a performance for their families who have come to pick them up.

Our 3 day sessions are packed with the same amount of inspiration, but for those who just aren't able to come for a whole week.

Students will get much more value from their training here while learning the tricks if they can already do at least 50 sit-ups, 30 pushups and pull-ups, and have been stretching and getting flexibility. Also basic familiarity with horseback riding is necessary.

Students ages range from 7 to 47.
